We offer many other great things here. We hope you enjoy our site and research and will visit us often. It has been a while since this site was updated, I am very sorry about that. My mother Ruth Ann Gauthier, went to be with the Lord 17 August 2006. I have not been able to bring myself to work on genealogy since. But I felt it was time to at least update this page and just maybe slowly start getting back into what my mother and I dedicated so much of our time and love to.

Ruth Ann (nee McGinnis) Gauthier:

I was born in Port Huron, Michigan, (daughter of Clarence McGinnis & Naomi Ruth Fleenor), where I lived the first 20 years of my life in the same home. I met and married a  military man, Angus John Gauthier Jr. on 2 July 1965 in my hometown of Port Huron. When we met we found out we had grown up a few blocks from each other, going to the same school. During his career in the U.S. Coast Guard we raised two daughters and traveled to several states, including Illinois, Indiana and New York, never realizing we were living in the same areas many of our ancestors had. It wasn't until the early 1980's after moving to Florida that I was bitten by the genealogy bug, as this was when I was introduced to my ancestors through the excitement, interest, and years of research my cousin, Karen L. Rose of Florida, and and cousin Larry R. Fleenor of Indiana had already accomplished. I am now so thrilled to have my talented daughter take up the torch to carry on. We both have learned so much, and find it much more rewarding as we work together. The one surname that seems to have captured my attention these past few years has been the FLEENOR line, having met many wonderful researchers along the way, as well as adding close to 17,000 names to our file

I was born in Port Huron, Michigan. (daughter of John Gauthier Jr. & Ruth Ann McGinnis). I graduated high school at Zephyrhills, Florida. I joined the US Army as a 91B (Medical Specialist) in 1986 & served 8 years. Half of my service was at Monteith Barracks in Fuerth. Located outside beautiful Nuremberg, Germany a country where many of our ancestors once lived. The other half of my service was in Washington state at Fort Lewis. One year for Christmas my mother gave my sister Danita & I a binder with our family tree, just our direct lines, nothing fancy, some pictures &  documents. It didn't interest me then. My love for genealogy started in 1996. My mother knew nothing about the internet and I got online and found so much stuff, she was overwhelmed. That's when we decided to make it easy for other researchers looking for the same ancestors & started a website in 1998. Since then our site has grown beyond belief. The surname that I have dedicated most of my time to is our MCGINNIS line now nearing 1000 names.
